Browsing
To see all available collections click Collections A to Z, or any collecting area under Explore Our Collections in the navigation bar at the top of every page, to see all available collections.
Click a collection's title or thumbnail to open it.
From within a collection, click a record's title or thumbnail to open it.
The Summary tab gives a brief overview of the object, including key fields such as title, date, format, and any content warnings where relevant. Full metadata beneath the viewer/player provides more detail, such as descriptions and copyright information. Metadata that appears in a gray bubble links to a list of all records cataloged with that term.

Image Viewer
Hovering the cursor over the image viewer displays a menu in the top right of the viewing window, with the following options:
- Zoom in or out
- Toggle full-page view
- Rotate left or right
- Go home — resets the image to the default view
Navigate through a multi-page record by selecting Browse Images or using the arrows to move between images. Use the page number box in the top right to jump to a specific image within the record.
Toggle the image viewer between full and half width using the arrows at the bottom right of the viewing window.
Click Download to open a pop-up window where you can save the full digital item, along with metadata and transcripts where available. Not all objects are downloadable; if the Download button is disabled and you'd like to request access, submit a Request for Access to Digitized Collections.
Bookmark a record, or select individual items within a multi-image record, for future reference in My Account. Learn more in Using My Account.

AV Player
Audio and video files display a player instead of the image viewer.
Click Play in the middle of the player to start playback. Once playing, a control bar appears at the bottom of the player whenever you hover over it. Controls let you:
- Skip forward or backward 15 seconds
- Pause
- Adjust volume or mute
- View total duration and jump to any point by timestamp
- Turn on closed captioning (if the file has been transcribed)
- Adjust playback quality (video only)
- View the content in full-screen
As with the image viewer, the arrows at the bottom right of the player let you toggle its width between full and half.
